Artwork Submission

Fox Point Designs has the ability to develop the design for your screen printed or embroidered garment. Our rate for artwork preparation is $50.00 per hour with a 30 minute minimum charge. Embroidery tape digitizing fee starts at $40.00.

You may also submit your own artwork. To be production-ready (also called camera-ready), it must comply with the “Artwork Submission Guidelines” below. Even if your artwork is not production-ready, it can still be valuable as a guide to help us visualize what you want while we redraw your artwork. Fox Point Designs will determine whether customer submitted artwork is production-ready. If it is not, there may be an artwork preparation fee to “finish” the artwork.

Copyrighted materials: We cannot reproduce art that is copyrighted or trademarked without permission from the owner of the material. Purchaser must indemnify Fox Point Designs of any liability arising out of or relating to any actual or alleged infringement of trademark, copyright, service mark, etc.

We can accept digitized embroidery files in TAJIMA .DST files or MELCO CONDENSED (.CND) format. Any designs that include only text in non-stylized fonts can be embroidered without a digitizing charge. Any design that includes custom images or type must be digitized, which will result in an additional charge. If these formats are not available, a .jpg file is generally sufficient to produce a stitch file.

Fabrics

  • Not all fabrics are created equal. Jersey knit, nylon, canvas are all nice fabrics to screen print or embroider. The characteristic of the fabric - smooth, i.e. t-shirts.
  • Fabrics that are pitted, for example, pique that is used for many golf shirts is not great for screen printing, but it is great for embroidery. The surface of this fabric is rough, we refer to this type of fabric as a waffle-weave. It is pitted, ink will stay on the top of the fabric, some many fall into the fabric but there is no guarantee that your design will not look distorted. In addition, when washed, your screen print will break apart easier, faster.
  • During the ordering process, we will discuss the fabric type of the product that you have chosen. We will tell you if the product that you have choose is good for screen printing and/or embroidery. We want your finished product not only to look great but we want your finished product to last.
